9 June 2006, The Star PUTRAJAYA: The application of the wife of the former Prime Minister of United Kingdom, Cherie Blair, to the High Court of Malaysia for leave to appear before the Federal Court here was rejected by the High Court Justice Wan Afrah Wan Ibrahim. Cherie Blair’s representative at the High Court, Mr. Benjamin Dawson, said that he would appeal against Justice Wan Afrah’s decision. “Obviously we don’t agree. It’s easy to generalize, to argue there’s sufficient local lawyers , but when it comes to a question of degree, we don’t think any local lawyer can measure up to her expertise as well as her standing” Mr. Dawson had said in an interview.
